The Wedding: Part IIa

This is part II of the blog about Devin and Shane's wedding.  The photographer took so many pictures of the wedding, I can not put them all here, so I will just describe and have pictures of the structure of the wedding and put all the guest pictures on Facebook.

There is a recurring theme in many of the pictures that most people will not understand.  Whenever you see Devin, Shane or one of the guests wearing a brown men's hat, the hat belonged to Devin's deceased paternal grandfather.  The grandchildren have decided that whenever they go to a special family event or travelling, they bring PaPa's hat.  It has been to China, the White House and many more places.  Now, it has been seen around Devin's wedding.  Long live PaPa!

Most of the wedding party stayed at the Hotel Provincial in the French Quarter.  It was recommended by my brother in law and is pretty and in a fabulous location, a couple of blocks from St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square.  It became the central meeting place for Devin's and Shane's friends for excursions.  We had about 22 people who would be coming to the hotel to meet to go to the wedding on the lakefront.  So, I rented a limo for Shane, her mom, aunt and friend.  I wanted a party bus for everyone else.  The party bus didn't work out, but they did have a white stretch Escalade limo.  At first, I didn't want that, because I had seen stretch Hummers and they looked obnoxious to me.  When the price of the party bus, would be double the price of the stretch Escalade, I decided to go with it.  Strangely enough, it could fit 18-20 people.  Here is a picture of the 18 people who went in that limo and then a picture of the limo:
